I received and installed my VMedia Home Phone adapter. I can make outgoing calls, but I can’t receive calls?

This can happen when we are transferring your telephone number from another provider to VMedia. The number 'porting' process can take up to 21 business days to complete. This means that you will receive your Home Phone package, and be immediately able to place outbound calls on it, but your telephone will continue to ring on your old phone line until the switch is completed. You should have received a temporary number from VMedia, which will allow you to sill receive calls during that period. For calls that are still being made to your own number, we recommend that you call your previous provider and ask them to forward all your calls to the 'temporary' number that we provided you in the 'Welcome' email. This way you will receive incoming calls on your new home phone.
